Yakubu Dogara Caucus Moves Against Femi Gbajabiamila

Mr Dogara and Mr. Gbajabiamila
There is tension at the House of Representatives today, November 10, as the chief whip, Alhassan Dogwa, has called a meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus scheduled for 10.am.

It was gathered that the meeting was scheduled on the instruction of the speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara in an effort to remove the majority leader Femi Gbajabiamila.

On Monday, November 9 the Gbajabiamila-led group had boycotted the inauguration  of the House committees and later issued a statement, remarks at the speaker. They said Dogara was committed to destroying the APC administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari. Sources from both camps have confirmed today.

Sources from the Gbajabiamila group said they were aware that the purpose of the meeting is to remove the majority leader.
On Monday, November 9, the APC in a statement accused Dogara of being an “agent provocateur” who is working to destabilise the current government.
The party also said the speaker’s actions were calculated efforts to destabilize the current administration.
But the spokesperson for the House of Representatives, Jonathan Gaza, had earlier dismissed reports of a rift between the speaker and the majority leader.
Gaza said there was no truth in the rumour making the rounds. He added that there was no such basis because long before the list of committee leaders was released there were consultations and everyone was carried along.
