Billionaire Bought The World's Most Expensive Diamond For 7-Year-Old Daughter

Embedded image permalinkBillionaire Joseph Lau of property firm, Chinese Estate Holding bought 12.03carats Blue diamond worth $48.4million for his 7-years old daughter, making it the  World's most expensive diamond.
This 12.03 carats blue diamond fetched $48.4million at auction on November11,2015.

According to the auctioneer David Bennett, he said, it is the highest price per carat ever obtained for any kind stone.

However, Lau has a track record for naming gems after his daughters, 7year old Josephine and 13 year old Zoe.
Back in 2009, Lau purchased a 7.03 carat-blue diamond for $9.48milliom. he named it "Star of Josephine".
Last November, he purchased a Burmese Rudy and diamond brooch weighing 10.10 carats for $8.43million, named it " The Zoe Red" as well as a 9.75 carats blue diamond for $32.6million calling it "The Zoe diamond" and this new 12.03carats blue diamond is called "Blue moon of Josephine".

According to forbes, Joseph Lau is the 114th richest person in the World with an estimated net worth of $9.8billion.
