New Ooni Of Ife , Adeyeye Ogunwusi, to be officially crowned today

Prince Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife-elect, is expected to leave Ilofi, where he has been undergoing customary  installation rites in the past 21 days, today and head to the Ile Oodua, the Palace, where he will be formally crowned.
After his coronation, which will only be attended by traditional chiefs and few initiated, The Ooni will appear briefly in public.
His inauguration and elaborate ceremony will hold on Monday, December 7. Ogunwusi is the 51th Ooni of Ife.

“The Ooni will leave Ilofi later tonight (Sunday) and he will be crowned tomorrow (Monday). The Ooni does not receive the crown in the public. Unlike other Obas, who are crowned in public, Ooni of Ife doesn’t receive the crown in public, Biyi Odunlade, an aide to the Ooni.
“The traditional crowning will be done at the palace on Monday (today) but the inauguration would hold on December 7. The Ooni will come out to see some people after the traditional coronation,” he added.
The Obadio of Ife, Oba Olajide Faloba, when contacted, also confirmed that Ogunwusi would be crowned on Monday.
He said the traditional coronation would hold on Monday and the inauguration ceremony, which would hold later, would be an occasion for the presentation of staff of office to the new Ooni.
