It was a unanimous decision at the floor of Ekiti House as the Speaker of the House, Kola Oluwawole, conducted a voice vote by the lawmakers.
The lawmakers said that the endorsement of Fayose was following his achievements after just one year in office.
Meanwhile, Governor Ayodele Fayose has reacted to the vote of confidence passed on him by the lawmakers.
While addressing newsmen in his country home, Afao Ekiti, Fayose said that the vote of confidence passed on him by the members of the House of Assembly was an indication that the people were strongly in support of his administration.
“I am not in the ruling party, and my duty as the opposition party is to keep the government in focus, in check, and make sure they don’t slide into dictatorship. Above it all, whether you call me leader of opposition or not, my words will continue and it will be for the good and benefit of average Nigerians,” he said, in reaction to being tagged the leader of the opposition.
