Gunmen Kidnap Step-mother of Kano Lawmaker, Demand N50m Ransom

 
Gunmen have kidnapped the step-mother of a member of Kano State House of Assembly representing Doguwa Constituency, Alhaji Salisu Ibrahim.
The kidnappers stormed the sleepy village of Ririwai, which is near the notorious Falgore forest in Doguwa local government area, in the night of Saturday and whisked her away to an unknown destination.
Confirming the incident on Monday , the lawmaker, Salisu Ibrahim, said: “My step-mother, Hajiya Hafsat Abubakar, was in her room when they invaded the house on the fateful day”.

Salisu said the suspects had since demanded for N50 million ransom from the family.
The state police Commissioner, Mr Muhammad Katsina confirmed the incident, saying four suspects had already been arrested in connection with it.
“We have arrested four persons in connection with the issue and are cooperating with us. We are making efforts to rescue her alive”.
