A court yesterday sentenced rapper DMX to six months in prison over his inability to pay child support.
The 44-year-old was convicted last night, July 14, according to reports from Billboard.
The rapper was nabbed last month, for his failure to pay child support running into nearly half a million dollars, just as he was about to perform at Radio City Music Hall.
The rapper –real names Earl Simmons– was taken in for ‘several issues outstanding’ the New York City’s Sheriff Department says.
According to the NYC Sheriff department, he owes around $400,000 for child support.
Following the arrest, Simmons will miss out on this year’s Shaggfest which holds in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on the 25th of July.
