Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Ngige, Audu Ogbeh, Mama Taraba At Launch Of Agric Roadmap

 
The Federal Ministry of Agriculture is presently unveiling the official launch & Public Presentation of the Agric Sector Roadmap - 'The cy document in Abuja.Present at the launching are VP Osinbajo(Special Guest of Honour),Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development - Chief Audu Ogbeh,Minister of Environment - Mrs Amina J. Mohammed, Minister of Defence - Mansur Mohammed Dan Alia,Dr. Chris Ngige,Mama Taraba and others.
In his welcoming address, Dr. Shehu Ahmed - Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said.....


"This is a policy document that is designed to harness the agricultural sector's potential for economic development"






Speaking at the event,Chief Audu Ogbeh said....

'We believe in building on a previous foundation and avoiding policy sommersault. We are not throwing old policies overboard but expanding, deepening and adjusting the existing policies where necessary. We will collate information, harness intelligence & capacity and make knowledge available to farmers for practical implementation'.

'With the new fertilizer application guidelines, we have recieved reports of rice yields increase from 3 to 7.5 metric tonnes in Kebbi State and other areas. We invite everyone to participate fully, as the new policy document navigates every area of the agric terrain'.

VP Osinbajo in his part said....


"The problem has never been with the lack of policy but has been with implementation. If we get agriculture right, we will get our economy right."

Mr. Sani Dangote, Chairman Nigeria AgriBusiness Group at the event said....

'The Agric Sector Roadmap is a very laudable document and can serve as the pathway to Nigeria's economic development but without proper execution, it will just be another laudable document'.

Mohammed Munguno speaking at the The Green Alternative Launch said...

'We have passed a bill to reposition Nigeria's Agricultural Quarantine Services"  - Chairman, House Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development'.

Also speaking at the launching was Anambra State Deputy Governor who said...

'Goodwill Message: Agriculture is the Number one pillar of the four pillars of economic development of Anambra state'.

While Chairman, House Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development - Mohammed Munguno speaking at the The Green Alternative Launch said..
