Flooding: Lagos Govt. Marks 7 Highbrow Estates For Demolition

The Lagos State Government has ordered owners of buildings erected on drainage alignments and channels in several upscale areas to vacate their properties or face forceful demolition. Some of the affected areas include: 1. Dolphin Estate, 2. Osborne Foreshore Estate, 3. Lekki, 4. Osapa London, 5. Ikota, 6. Ogombo and 7. Ikoyi.

The announcement given by the Commissioner for the Environment, Dr. Babatunde Adejare, comes as the aftermath of devastating floods that put several lives in danger and wrecked severe damage on properties in the state a few weeks ago.

Adebayo, an old student of Ibadan Boys High School died Sunday morning at University College Hospital, Ibadan at about 6. am according to sources.

Chief Adebayo who happened to be one of the pioneer staff of the first television station in Africa, Western Nigeria Television (WNTV) died at the age of 86.

LG Election: Lagos Extends Restriction Of Movement

The Lagos State Government on Wednesday extended the restriction of movement across the State noting that it had been slightly expanded and will now be enforced between 7 am and 3pm on Saturday July 22, to allow for a smooth conduct of the Local Government elections and unhindered participation.

In a statement issued by the State's Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, the Government also reiterated the call for a peaceful and orderly conduct by the electorates on Saturday as the State holds elections that will usher in new Chairmen and Councillors in the 20 Local Government and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) across the State.

Embattled Singer Dammy Krane Shares New Photos Amidst Ongoing Court Case Over Credit Card Fraud

Singer Dammy Krane was arrested and booked in Miami on the 2nd of June for theft, credit card and identity fraud in Miami. Although he has since been granted bail, the Miami Times reported that at the point of his arrest at the Opa-locka Executive Airport, authorities searched him and found seven false credit cards in his wallet. He now faces nine felony charges in Miami-Dade criminal court for credit card forgery and grand theft.
