Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has said President Mohammadu Buhari was operating as a president of the Northern Nigeria only, describing steps taken by the president since May 29, 2015 as tainted in ethnic and tribal colouration, which is inimical to the unity of
Nigeria.
The governor, who descried what he called President Buhari’s “Nothernisation of Nigeria,” said “appointments made by the President so far negate the principle of federal character and it appears the unity in diversity of Nigeria is being taken for granted by the President.”

It Is Too Early To Judge Buhari’s Government – Lai Mohammed

The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says it is too early to judge the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari based on about 40 out of 1000 appointments made so far.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Monday, Mr Lai Mohammed, said he believes the President will make the right decisions on appointments and he will be gender friendly.

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) through its provincial headquarters on Lagos Island has cancelled a three-day outdoor crusade of one its parishes.
The cancellation came after the criticism that followed the invitation of the Fuji musician Wasiu Alabi Pasuma as a guest artist for the crusade.

Chief Security Officer to President Goodluck Jonathan, Gordon Obuah, has denied allegation of purchase of three mobile stages worth $6.9m, for public appearance of his boss.

Obuah’s lawyer, Mr. Andrew Tsekiri, told The Punch on Sunday, said the allegation was false.

He dared the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government to produce evidence instead of putting him on trial in the media.

Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose can be counted as one of the most surprising governors in Nigeria.

The governor works even on Sundays! Governor Fayose was spotted earlier today as he drove himself across the city for the inspection of the Channelization Project at Arowa-Darlimore area of Ado Ekiti.
The extensively channelization project is being done with concrete embankments to stop flooding in the area.

Soldiers Storm Magistrate Court, Beat Up Officials And Free Suspects

BENIN—There was a mild drama in the premises of Evbuoriaria Magistrate’s Court, Benin, yesterday, as soldiers stormed the court and freed four suspects brought for arraignment by officials of the Edo State War Against Indiscipline, WAI.

Attempt to contact officials of Army Public Relations, 4 Brigade Benin, for comments failed as they could not be reached.

It was gathered that the soldiers had earlier stormed the premises of WAI located at the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism, and allegedly beat up staff of the agency in their bid to rescue the arrested suspects.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday accepted an invitation from the United Nations Secretary-General, Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, to a meeting of world leaders in New York.

The meeting is expected to formulate a fresh plan of action against extremism.

Nigerian governors — known for their romance with luxury, typified by expensive local and foreign trips on private jets — may finally be cutting their coat according to their cloth.

Since the inauguration of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration in May 2015, the jet charter business has dipped to an all-time low in Nigeria, industry insiders have told TheCable.

“Before and during the election in March, I would say the charter business hit its peak, but since Buhari was sworn in, there has been a marked low frequency,” the chief executive of one of the operators, who asked not to be named, said.

No Record Of Visa Application By ISIS Chief - NIS

Comptroller General of Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Mr David Parrandang, has said there was no record of application for visa by the ISIS chief, Ahmed Al Assir, allegedly arrested on his way to Nigeria via Cairo.

A team of students in the University of Lagos built an eco-friendly car. They say the car doesn't emit gas doesn't utilize fossil fuel. They built the car under the Project Dove Initiative and have successfully completed their first model, Dove P1, utilizing locally sourced materials and building it right here in the university of Lagos. An international institute which ranks universities across the globe, Cybermetrics Lab of Spain, has rated the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, as the best university in Nigeria, for the fifth consecutive time.

A statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of OAU, Mr. Abiodun Olarewaju, on Thursday, stated that the university ranking body rated the curricular, research, academic and general administration of the university as the best in the country.

Two planes carrying dozens of parachutists have collided in mid-air over western Slovakia, killing seven people.
The accident took place on Thursday morning near the village of Červený Kameň.
The government agency that investigates plane crashes said, according to preliminary information, about 40 people – mostly parachutists – were on board the L-410 planes at the time of the collision, which occurred at an altitude of 1,500 metres (4,921 ft).

Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a reduction in its cut-off mark for students seeking admission into tertiary institutions.

The examination body has reduced the cut-off mark to 180 for admission to degree programmes, and 150 for national certificate in education, national diploma and national innovation diplomas.
