When I sometimes tell you that politics is more interesting than gossip, you won’t believe me, lol. Just when Mr Sunday Dare, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s media aide replied PDP Chieftain Bode George this morning saying, Bode George should not be taken seriously for saying Tinubu apologised to him openly, because he is only seeking political relevance which has since left him.
Well, Asiwaju himself has deemed it fit, to clear the air now. In a statement released by his media aide today, Asiwaju said he never apologised to Bode George like he claimed, but simply greeted him because some people asked him too.

Imagine a situation where the former CBN governor who by God ‘s grace would later become the Emir of Kano raised an issue of missing billions of money, not in Naira but in Dollars, $20 billion. What happened, instead of investigating to know whether it was true that the money was missing or not, they simply found a reason to remove him. So these are the issues we are talking about" he said in Hausa

Non-Payment Of Salaries: Aregbesola Urges Labour Leaders To Suggest Ways Of Raising Money

Following agitations by civil servants in Osun State over the non-payment of salaries, the State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola has challenged labour leaders in the state to suggest how his administration could generate more funds to meet its obligations. It will be recalled that the All Progressives Congress in the State in December, 2014 had said the allocation accruing to the state had fallen from N3.8bn per month to N1.3bn.
The labour leaders have however said the government should consider the re-introduction of PTA back to schools to be able to raise little money considering that the people of Osun have been enjoying free healthcare, free education coupled with free meal for the students.
They also recommended that the governor should prioritise capital projects   and complete them in phases. Also a review of some laws which stipulate fines of as low as N20 or N50 as punishment for non-payment of some taxes should be considered.
They also advised the government to stop illegal mining of solid mineral resources such as gold and tantalite in the state.

OAP Freeze Disses Entertainers, You Can’t March Against Piracy When You Wear Fake Watches Yourselves

Now it’s official and it’s so much safe to call OAP Freeze of Cool Fm a trouble maker. Like seriously, Freeze said that? Lol… does he know how many people that will come after him for that?

Toor… So after entertainers marched this week against piracy to the Lagos State Government house, where Governor Fashola addressed them, on air personality with Cool Fm, Freeze however feels the walk wasn ‘t necessarily needed as those that walked against piracy practise such too. Freeze says they need to stop wearing fake wrist watches if at all they have to march against piracy. Remember Freeze is a diehard fan of expensive wrist watches and he has many in millions (it’s a fact people!). What he said;
'Celebrities marching against piracy yet they wear fake (Pirated) watches. Stop patronizing sites like these and maybe, just maybe they would stop pirating your movies and music. Funny thing about piracy is that it only hurts when it's been done to you! The same way it hurts when your material is being pirated is the same way it hurts #Rolex #FranckMuller #Cartier #Hublot #Panerai #Patek etc.'

Jonathan to hand over power on May 29th, not May 28th - FG

Minister of Information, Senator Patricia Akwashiki says president Jonathan will hand over power on May 29th as against May 28th date earlier reported. Speaking after the Federal Executive Council meeting today April 22nd, Akwashiki said May 28th will be the last day ministries and parastatals will do their handing over of briefs while the President will hand over power to Buhari on May 29th

"In the council today, the discussion was still centered on transition. I have to make a little clarification because some people thought I said May 28 will be handover date. I never said that. I said May 28 will be the last day that we will have our handing over briefs by ministries and parastatals. I said from the 28th of this month to that date has been given to departments and ministries to submit their hand over notes.
I remember somebody asked if there will be no vacuum if there is handover on May 28 and I replied that there will be no handing over on May 28. Handing over and inauguration will hold on May 29. The President is not handing over power on May 28, he is handing over power on May 29. We have started the transition and it is ongoing. We are submitting our handover notes to the Office of the SGF. The President is still the President until May 29 when Gen. Buhari takes his oath of office and resumes as the President of the Federal Republic.”she said

Xenophobia: 6,000 Nigerians will lose their jobs if MTN leaves Nigeria

MTN Nigeria says about 6,000 Nigerians will lose their jobs if MTN is made to leave Nigeria. Head of Communications MTN, Mr Wale Goodluck said this while reacting to calls by a protest group in Edo state yesterday that the telecommunications offices in Nigeria will be shut and their installations attacked if the xenophobic attacks in South Africa continues.

Mr Goodluck said there are only 12 expatriates working for the company in Nigeria compared to a workforce of 6,000 Nigerians.

"So if people go ahead with their threats to attack our facilities, what that means is that we may be forced to close down the business in Nigeria and about 6,000 Nigerians that make up 99% of our workforce will be unemployed.
Then, when you look at our support chain, we have about 500,000 Nigerians gainfully employed. So, boycotting our services simply means destroying so many other Nigerian businesses and making over 500,000 other Nigerians to lose their jobs. This business supports a lot of businesses across the length and breadth of Nigeria. Many of the businesses that are affiliated to South Africa are in the retail space, supporting the growth of Nigeria and employing so many Nigerians. We see no revenge of Xenophobia and we commend the role the Nigerian High Commissioner in South Africa has played; at least there has been no fatality on the part of any Nigerian,” he said
